G Master on a budget
If you're looking for an alternative to the Gmaster 85mm lens, this is basically it. I've had both of them side by side, and I was thoroughly impressed with the Meike. Granted, the Gmaster is better, but considering it's more than double the price of the Meike, unless you want the absolute best performance, the Meike will do just fine. The housing of the lens is unapologetically plastic... doesn't feel that bad though, no complaints from me if I'm being honest, I'm not going to ask for the world at this price point. I'm very pleased with this lens, I think third party lens have come a long way!

An incredible lens for the price, with impressive performance.
This lens surprised me in a good way.Considering its price and the price of the counterpart, this lens has nothing to envy. It is sharp, the autofocus is fast, silent, and its build quality is good.I didn't see any vignetting in my testings, neither signs of distortion. The eye tracking of my Sony A7IV worked perfectly even during low light conditions. I was particularly curious about how it would perform in backlit situations, where lenses often struggle with fringing, but I was pleasantly surprised to find almost no issues. The lens is fairly compact but a bit on the heavy side, which is expected considering the size of the frontal element and the aperture of the lens. You can adjust the aperture physically or leave it in Automatic and control it within the camera.I even tested with Meike's focus extension tubes and it was able to keep using the autofocus on macro mode!Overall, I would highly recommend this lens, especially when considering the quality-to-price ratio. It’s simply unmatched — offering stellar performance at a fraction of the cost of a comparable F1.4 lens. If you're looking for a lens that delivers beautiful bokeh and excellent overall image quality without breaking the bank, this is the one to get... it's basically a bokeh machine.

Don’t be fooled by the Brand or price!
This is an excellent lens! I have several lenses from this brand and I love the quality and the price. Heavy, FAST and durable. I had no problems with the seller or the kens itself. Within the first week, it paid for itself.

Had some trouble with focus
Super sharp. Gorgeous image. But one of the main shots I needed this for involved slomo footage of people in front of a brightly lit white background. This lens couldn’t handle it, fluttering the focus wildly.I returned it. But it really was cool of it weren’t for failing at my main use case.

Nice manual lens
These are nice little lenses for Canon mirrorless cameras. The Meike 50mm f/1.7 is substantially larger than the Meike 50mm f/2 and is heavier as well. I photographed them w/ the Canon 22mm f/2 for comparison. Very solid metal construction, good quality dials. Happy with the performance and image quality so far especially for the price. I recommend focus peaking to help get sharp images with this lens.

Great for a budget
I just recently got back into photography, and I wanted to get a couple lenses but I didn't want to spend $1000 starting out. So I went with this Meike 50mm and also a Meike 35mm. And let me tell you, they're perfect starter lenses. I'm not overly impressed by the quality, but they're very well made and impressive for being so inexpensive. I'll most likely upgrade in a year or so, but these have been great for starting out!
