Cuts tough fibers like dyneema rope and polyester rope
I do rope eye splicing in double braid rope such as Samson Stable Braid and Sterling Kraken ropes as well as in hollow braid UHMWPE ropes such as Dyneema and Spectra. Being able to easily cut the fibers in these ropes is essential in a good clean splice. These scissors are priced below their quality. The blades have very fine serrations that allow the successful cuts in these tough fibers.

High Quality, Sharp, and Perfect for Kevlar Cutting
The Jonard Tools KCS-4 Fiber Optic Kevlar Cutting Shears are exactly what I needed for cutting tough materials like Kevlar, cabling insulation, and tape. These shears are incredibly sharp and durable, making them perfect for anyone working with fiber optics or similar materials. Right out of the box, I could tell that they were built to last. The high-carbon stainless steel blades are extremely sharp and hold their edge well, even after repeated use. I’ve used these to cut through Kevlar-reinforced cables, and they slice through with ease every time. The serrated blade is a fantastic feature, as it grips onto the material, providing a cleaner and more precise cut.One of the things I really appreciate about these shears is the ergonomic design. The wide handle opening makes them comfortable to use, even when wearing gloves or if you have larger hands. The fiberglass-infused polypropylene handles feel sturdy, and I can see these lasting through long-term, heavy-duty use. The handles provide just the right amount of grip, so they don’t slip out of your hands while cutting tough materials.Overall, the cutting performance is top-notch, and the build quality is excellent. These shears are solid, reliable, and well worth the price for anyone who needs a dependable tool for cutting Kevlar or other tough materials. Whether you’re working in fiber optics or just need a strong, durable pair of shears, these are an excellent choice. Highly recommend!

My most used Kevlar sheers.
These aren't the best Kevlar sheers on the market, but they are far from the worst. I prefer these of the Fiskars RazorEdge shears that are very common in the Fiber splicing world. I think the Clauss are a little better, but these beat them in price. The Fiskars and Clauss cut Kevlar a little better, but these handle thicker items like Tie Wraps much better than the Fiskars. The handle allows higher leverage than the Clauss model that I find handier. In the past I have used these to easily cut anything from kevlar to 5 pair copper service wire. Now that I am strictly a fiber splicer, these are used mostly for dressing fiber cables (48 count to 432 count) and zip ties.I deduced 1 star as they do not quite cut Kevlar as well as the Fiskars and Clauss shears. However, these do still work very well.
