When you see the videos of these types of things the water drys instantly. This does not actually work like that but it will dry on its own eventually. Probably 5-10 minutes depending on how much what you put on it. I use this for my dish soap and scrub daddy.

This is doing a good job keeping my counter under the soap dry but it has slight staining where the blue liquid has dripped and red spice spilled onto it. Bleach lightened it some.

It’s perfect and dries very fast. If getting soap on it i simply wash it off and it dries perfectly as I mentioned before! :)

This has been great for keeping the water from getting stuck under the soap holder (my previous one was getting moldy) and looks nice too.

These work great. They absorb the water left by sponges or soap decanters. They sit above the counter instead of on it, so no mildew forms. Highly recommend.
