I got this specialty item that is not readily available at all stores here. It is more expensive than what I could get locally, but the convenience of not having to drive out of my way to get it is worth it. Dark soy sauce adds color and flavor with less salt than regular soy sauce. Tamari can be used for dark soy sauce, but the larger bottles, but only the smaller bottles are available.

This dark soy sauce has a deeper, more concentrated and complex flavor. It will take your Asian dishes to the next level for sure! It’s excellent in marinades, sauces, and adds tons of color to fried rice.

Cooks illustrated magazine advocated a dark soy sauce that would add extra flavor to dishes. Trying to avoid sodium I have not bought any dark Soy sauce ever. But I Did buy this. I Use it in small quantities but it really does have a nice impact on the dish. So I recommend it.

A bit pricey but its the convenient of not looking inside the grocery finding one is a hasle

Good flavor, good price

excellent flavor, good color, and strong concentration. It's a nicely large glass bottle too, and will last a long time. It's a bit expensive, but at the rate of use it's not too bad.
