An excellent line for spinning reel
An excellent replacement for Stren Magnathin which is no longer available. Sunline 25lb test is the same thickness as was the 20lb Stren, so I now have 5 more lbs of strength, and it casts really well with no tangles.

Awesome thanks

Quality visible line
Excellent quality green line, visible while trolling. Diameter of 12 lb line is smaller than traditional 10 lb mono which facilitates deep diving crankbaits.

Doesn't bounce off my spinning reel
This is my new favorite monofilament. I have tried the 10 and 12 lb test. Compared to other brands, 12 lb feels more like 10 lb. 10 lb feels more like 8 lb. in terms of thickness. I put 12 lb on my spinning reel and it does not bounce off the spool like other brands. The BEST way I have found to put line on a spinning reel is to take a bowl of hot water from the faucet and soak the line in it for 2 or 3 minutes before putting it on the reel. Float the spool of line in the hot water so it unwinds off the spool counterclockwise. Then put the line on the reel, leaving the spool floating in the water and don't overfill it. You won't get curled up line trying to spring off your reel, it will come off nice and straight.

Buy on diameter. Great mono.
I've seen bad reviews on this line but I believe there's a reason. With most major manufacturers, line test has become a contest. That's why many 4lb test monofilaments break at 8-10lbs. Its so manufacturers can claim they have the strongest line. Sunline does not participate in this contest. Sunline 8lb breaks at roughly 8lbs. However, it's the same diameter as Trilene 4lb. I think people are breaking off because they have too light of line.So I recommend, instead of LB test, buy based on line diameter. If you're used to using 12lb test, buy 20lb Sunline because the diameters are the same. The line is excellent. It's reliable, casts forever, and for the diameter is very abrasion resistant. There is NO monofilament on the market that doesn't twist some. It stretches intentionally thus it will twist. There are things you can do to minimize twist, but mono will twist. When it does, cut it off. I will change my mono after one trip if I was catching fish because once it stretches it weakens and twists.

Smooth
The line is nice and smooth and casts well. It is easy to tie knots with it. I used to use Stren Ultrathin, but, it was discontinued. This is a great replacement.

Buy this line.
Great fishing line! The strength of the line exceeds what it's on the label. It doesn't memory very much. It's the best fishing line I've ever used.

Strong, casts well, lower memory than most
This line has become my favorite mono. I've got it in both 8# and 10# due to the type of fishing I do; frequently throwing small crank baits and finesse fishing for small bass, crappie, trout, etc. in small lakes or ponds. When I'm potentially going to be catching larger bass, lake trout, or Pike I'll use a braid, so I can't tell you if the heavier Sunline has the same smooth casting action as the light stuff. It has some memory, but not as much as most that I've tried and it's strong! I've used it with topwater walking style baits and it's worked well. One respectable Northern surprised me in very shallow water last summer and after a lengthy fight he was almost ready for his photo op; however, the lure was far enough in his mouth that his teeth shredded the line just before I could land him. It happens and I can't fault the line; overall it performed better than I would expect most lines to.My guess is that 4# or 6# would be ideal for the light and ultralight rigs frequently used for brook trout, Bluegill, etc.
