Q: What is the chemical ingredient used .

I compared using plqin generic Isopropyl alcohol to this overpriced crap. The Iso worked 10x better. No streaks left behind as with their magic stuff . And I had MY MONEY in MY pocket, NOT theirs. PERIOD. Don't buy into this HYPE

Q: I plan to polish first. Will this remove it or only the oil?

After applying Gyeon Prep just wipe off with a microfiber towel. Prep type chemicals are designed primarily designed to remove compound and polish residual prior to applying a wax, sealant, or ceramic/graphine coating to ensure maximum bonding between the "coating" and the clear coat to increase durability. They can be used as a mild degreaser as well.
