Protein Skimmer NANO 15GAL - Lime Wood Air Stone Saltwater Marine Aquarium Filter by Ocean Free

I bought this for a Waterbox Cube 20, it sits in the rear center chamber and rests on the bottom, the height is just right. I also run a filter sock as the first pass mechanical filter and change that every few days. Tank has to be topped off properly for it to work. I had to play around with different airstones as the included one leaked large bubbles the first time. I tried a Lee's stone but it also leaked, tried gluing in with superglue which worked but it cracked on me 24 hours after putting it in, I went back to the original, which sealed fine now without glue. Maybe these should be soaked a bit before use. Once the setup had a good stone making fine bubbles (4 watt pump) it took about 2 days to start seeing skimmate rise high enough in the column to collect, albeit very slowly. 10 days later it's working consistently producing greenish brown skimmate. Out of curiosity I tested the collected skimmate. NO3 measured around 3-4 ppm but NH3 was the most intense shade of green I had ever seen with that test even far more than when the tank was first setup for cycling. It's definitely working. PO4 in the display is about 0.04-0.05 consistently. So far I'm pleased with it. It's simple, quiet and best of all is doing its job.

It works well for what it is. It takes a few days for it to break in and to adjust it properly but when you get it dialed in it pulls a dark colored tea looking skimmage. I have it hooked up to a whisper air pump and it works like a charm in my nuvo 8. I would buy this again

The media could not be loaded.  I usually don’t write reviews however this warranted one. I have a 24G nano AIO and it’s been almost impossible to find a small skimmer that actually skims as well as fits in one of my chambers. This product is the cheapest and most EFFICIENT out of all the ones I’ve tried so far. The foam it produces is dense and although I’ve only had it on for a few hours I have zero doubt that once broken in this will be a skimming monster. A few things to note... I bought a higher quality Lee’s wooden diffuser and I use a whisper 40 pump to power the skimmer up. As you can see in the video this will definitely skim.

I did receive it on time which is why this got 2 stars instead of one. It is way too big for my tank and I had contacted the seller and they never contacted me back. Now it is too late to return it and I wasted my money on something I won't use. I wouldn't buy this protein skimmer if I had even a 20 gallon tank and maybe even if I had a 30 gallon tank, it's HUGE. Plus, not all of the items come with it so you have to buy even more. You're not really getting a good deal when you buy thus product.

This product would work great with a large tank that is tall. It did not fit in my tank which is 15 gallons. Please understand that this product also does not come with the air pump it only comes with a tube.

Works as expected. Have however replaced the wood air stone with a ceramic one I had from years ago. The key to getting this to work right as with all skimmers is the amount of air you're pushing into it. Better to have an oversize air pump than one not pushing enough air. Recommend a pump with a PSI of 2.85 or higher.

Horrible. Bought for my 10 gallon tank and barely worked. After a while the actual bubble defused started to devolve. I'm past the return window and am pissed. I'm going to get my money back for this piece of garbage

I've tried using an eshoppes nano protein skimmer but it wasn't the right size for my aquarium. This protein skimmer fits in the back of my Fluval Spec 16 gallon so I can keep my hood with lights on. Works great with a whisper air pump

I cut it 2" because it was a too long for my nano tank, then made a few holes around where the woodstone goes, just to increase the water flow. At first the bubbles couldn't go near the top of the tube, but after two days it started to do a great work.

Works amazing on my nano Marine tank. Very easy to setup and use. You will need an air pump though

Das ist leider kein abschäumer. das ist ein kunststoffrohr mit einem ausströmer. bei dieser bauweise kann er gar nicht abschäumen.er wirbelt nur das wasser im rohr rum. zum abschäumen müsste ein wasseraustausch stattfinden.
