This is a nicely made shaving set. The hubby was pleased!

I won't lie. I got this because it looked aesthetic, which it does, but there are a few issues.The issue is that the bowl is incredibly small and kind of awkward to lather in. The edge is smooth but it's not comfortable on the fingers.Seems great if you don't have much counter space, but if you're that pressed for space just lather straight onto your face for a minute or two after loading the soap onto your brush.You do get a brush, it's prob the main reason I bought this. I'm not an expert on brushes but it seems okay.Lastly you also get a stand. Also looks good but it's at an awkward height for the brush. It seems like the idea is to hang the brush on the stand and let it soak in the bowl. If you do that it leaves a portion of the brush exposed to air which I'm not sure is ideal. It might not even matter though.It's good for the price but my experience with this makes me wish I got everything separately in spite of aesthetics. (wide shaving mug/bowl, Stand for razor & brush, brush itself)

Got this as a present for someone who has never used a bowl and brush. He said it was a great shave and the brush didn’t have too strong of smell and it faded quickly. Razors should be hung after shaving (non disposable). So why not get a nice stand? This is a beginner set, bowl is small and lather will overflow but it looks great, is a affordable way to see if you like whipping up a lather with a bowl and brush and gets the job done.

There's a lot of fake products pretending to be boar hair online nowadays.This one seems to be the real deal. Has that distinctive smell, and has that usual sort of "dirtiness" you have to wash and clean out of the brush.Took quite a few washes to fully get all the stuff out, the boar smell remains though but from what I have read it can take months and months for that smell to fade, but I dont mind it.Extremely bristly, very tough. Did have a fair bit of lost hairs for the first couple months but that seems to have stopped now while the brush still holds its shape.The dish is perfect for quickly warming up to get a good lather asap.

Great quality brush and bowl. Very nice weight, But not made for a safety razor. Slips off holder too easy, on closer look made for a cartridge razor.

For the price point it's got sound features, fit and finish. The badger hair brush was what I wanted at that price range. The stand was an elegant addition to the bathroom counter and performed admirably. However, after 6 weeks of use, the bowl started to rust. I had thought that the steel could afford to dry on its own after simply rinsing it, but it seems the bowl will have to be babied (i.e. wiped down) after each use. Be aware of this when you use it.

The brush is quite effective. The bowl is not large, but does perform well for its size. The stand fits standard size razors (Jagger DE89, Merkur 34C,etc.)
